DCC plc, through its business Certas Energy Norway AS, has won the "Best EV Hub in the World" competition. The Able Mandal site in Norway was awarded with this title in a competition organised by Insight Research, together with Vontier, sponsored by Visa and The Coca-Cola Company. This award recognises the outstanding design, operational excellence, and customer-focused features of the hub, setting a new benchmark in the electric vehicle (EV) mobility industry.
Excellence in Design and Customer Value Proposition
The Able Mandal site was developed with a clear focus on providing the best possible experience for EV users. The hub features a large under-canopy fast charging area, a 'park & charge' zone for commuters, and an extensive offering of facilities including a McDonald’s restaurant and a Deli de Luca convenience store. It also includes a fully automated car wash with water recycling equipment.
Commitment to Sustainability, Energy Transition and Innovation
Sustainability and energy transition is at the core of the Able Mandal project. The site offers biofuels (HVO) at both HGV and passenger car forecourts, and all electricity provided is sourced from 100% renewable sources. The Able Mandal hub’s innovative design includes 16 high power charge points offering up to 200kW, accommodating all EV brands. The site layout ensures a safe and enjoyable environment for both private and commercial customers, featuring separate traffic flows and ample recreational areas. This holistic approach has set a new standard in the industry, inspiring others to follow suit.
