DCC is the winner of the 2009 Published Accounts Award for large Irish quoted companies, the main award for excellence in financial reporting in Ireland which is presented annually by the Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants.
Speaking at the presentation of the Published Accounts Awards, David Connolly, Chairman, Chartered Accountants Leinster Society, said that the Awards recognise the commitment shown by Irish companies in seeking excellence in financial reporting. “Following a lengthy review process, the winners were chosen from a large group of entries in which the standard was very high. The winners represent the best standards in the country and they deserve our congratulations on their achievement” he said.
Ms. Deirdre Somers, Chief Executive of the Irish Stock Exchange, (sponsor of the awards) congratulated the finalists and particularly the winners for setting the benchmark for communication and transparency among their peers, noting that the event “recognises the contribution made by organisations from all walks of corporate Ireland to provide relevant and comprehensive information through their published accounts.”
