DCC Wins Published Accounts Award for the Second Time

DCC plc won the Published Accounts Award for large Irish quoted companies for the second time. The Published Accounts Awards, first won by DCC in 2003, are the premier recognition of transparency and excellence in financial reporting in Ireland and are presented annually by the Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants. The aim of the Published Accounts Awards is to recognise and reward companies that excel in providing shareholders and indeed all stakeholders with relevant information from across their organisations and not just the financial figures.
Speaking at the presentation of the Awards on 17 November 2006, the European Commissioner for Internal Markets and Services, Mr Charlie McCreevy, stated:
“Company accounts should be as straightforward, readable and as user-friendly as possible. Those who succeed in doing this, in spite of the increasing complexity of the business world, should be rewarded and the Awards given today will do that.”
